We would like to remind everyone that MG '98 was the annual convention of
the North American MGB Register. Among those attending were Joe and
Marjorie Carroll of the Canadian Classic MG Club, which will be hosting MG
'99 in Vancouver. They distributed information and issued the invitation to
everyone to attend next year. A long drive? Yes. But Joe and Marjorie
have driven from Vancouver to attend every NAMGBR convention so far.

Finally, there is another NAMGBR meeting still to come this year- the Annual
General Meeting (AGM) on Oct. 24 in Las Vegas. One thing that sets NAMGBR
apart is its democratic organization. Not only do affiliated clubs vote for
its officers, but every member is welcome- no, encouraged- to attend and
participate in the AGM, held every year on the Saturday following the
anniversary date of the closing of the factory. Basic info on this year's
meeting: 1 to 5 pm in the Royal Pavilion of the Four Queens Casino & Hotel,
202 Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV. For accommodations at the hotel, phone
their central reservations number- 1-800-634-6045 - prior to September 23.
Mention NAMGBR for the meeting rate of $59.00 plus 11% tax for a single or
double. If you have business to present but cannot attend the meeting, send
it in a letter to one of the officers (see inside front cover of the
Driver). Everyone is invited to socialize Friday and Saturday evenings.
