As I sit here in this dismal rainstorm during the last days of my
too-quickly-gone-by vacation, I've started contemplating and reading about
what I need to do to my B this fall when I pull the motor to fix the clutch
and rear main oil seal. I believe I should do as much as possible once going
through the trouble of pulling the motor.
This subject has been covered before, I believe mostly related to the As of
some listers.
Peter Burgess mentions nothing about lightening the flywheel, but I'm happy
that he likes the stock cam.
Lindsay Porter's book does mention grinding the flywheel in one sentence.

I'm interested to know everyone's thoughts on flywheel lightening for the B.

I'm going to rebuild the head while I have the engine out, and maybe renew
the rings too. (Compression reads 135, 117, 137, 135 front to back, wet and
dry)
I'm seriously considering Burgess' suggested porting to increase the
efficiency of the head. Otherwise, based on what Burgess says, I'll probably
leave the cam alone. The bottom end is behaving quite well other than the
leak at the rear which has precipitated the demise of the clutch. I don't
THINK I need to crack the case at this point. Am I right?
TIA
