Absolutely.
I don't lie to my wife, that just throw monkey wrenches into the
marriage. However, on several occasions I've reminded her that both of
my vehicles together cost just over $5000. When compared to her
$20,000 minivan, it really does stop a lot of complaints.

I think honesty is the best policy. But adding something like "Good
thing it doesn't have a monthly payment like your Volvo." doesn't hurt
either. ;)
