engine id & pistons

The tag is gone off of the side of my block.  I have the head off right
now do to bad valve seats.  i thought somebody said thier are other
number on the head and the block.  Also the piston have a very very
slight dish.  My car is a 76 b so im wondering if they might be the
origanal style or not they sat.o20 on the any ideas?
