original vs original

Gathering info before i start of the MGB -64: Are there available info =
on frame numbers vs engine numbers. ie this frame number came with that =
engine so an so.-?
Taking in consideration that this MGB might be better of with a new =
engine, it might be foolish to take out the original if that gives it a =
lower score of originallity. Any engine can be restored anyway, and =
originallity is here prefered. But then we have the costs.
