It is possible that the PO put an MGB clutch in the car and never changed
the arm that pushes against the throw-out bearing. I rebuilt my MGA with a
MGB clutch and 3-main flywheel (1500 engine), put it in the car and found that
I had no clutch (unless I would have added a 1 inch extenstion to the rod
going into the slave cylinder. I took the engine out and btained the proper
components.....
