Many thanks to all who replied: Consensus seems to be that its probably steam rather than smoke - if i'm very lucky its condensation in the exhaust - if not its leakage from the water jacket to the combustion chamber I'm afraid i'd forgotten about re-torqueing the head - i'll do so this weekend (may not be too late?) BTW - The replacement for my lost Haynes Manual hasn't arrived yet - does anyone happen to know how many ft/lbs and the tightening sequence? David |
