My overdrive refuses to work. The switch on the gearchange is working OK.
I have 12 volts to the solenoid. I have drained the gearbox and removed
the sump, and cleaned the filter and magnets.
I now have the solenoid on the bench and when 12 volts is applied
to the lead, and the base is grounded, the plunger *releases* the ball.
This, to me, appears to be the wrong way. Surely, when 12 volts is
applied, the plunger should force the ball onto its seat ???
Any thoughts on this from the wise on the list ?
