Silcone fluid and conventional fluid will not mix. Pour a little new (known)
fluid in a jigger, bleed a little fluid from your system into the jigger.
It'll look like oil and water if there is silicone and conventional brake
fluid present.
BTW: You want DOT 4, not DOT3 in most instances
BTW2: Castrol has some DOT 4 LAHD (or something -- low mositure absorbtion
formula) that is pretty good stuff.
BTW3: Although conventional and silcone won't mix, they can co-exist in the
same brake system without ill effects.
BTW4: Note that I didn't say which is better!
