Not knowing the answer myself, I asked a very
knowledgable friend about this .
He is retired from Champion Spark Plug Company
after many years as their rep'.
Here is HIS answer:
" The reason you get a different ohmic reading on the champion is they
use a new patented suppressor that is made from a treated ceramic
material that is treated with chemistry to give better noise suppression
and remain stable at high temperatures. One should not try to read the
resistance with an ohmmeter unless it's put about 10,000 volts to measure
with !!!! So that is the difference in the reading you got. You will
get a reading but it is not correct. "
