NOW....I had to go and mess things up! :(
I decided to replace the dizzy cap, wires, condensor, rotor and points as
recommended for a car like mine, newly bought.
Guess what? It wouldn't start...Grrrrr.
I went back and replaced all the old parts (which were working fine,
dammit), except the points, which I adjusted several times, trying various
gaps just off and on the required .035 -.040 mm. Nada!
What's the simplest, stupidest reason that anyone has found to be a cause of
this situation? No, I didn't forget to put the rotor back in, but almost! :)
I know its goota be something easy since the ignition was fine until I
messed with it. I checked the wire placement and they're correct. Anyone had
faulty points outta the box that would cause a no-start?

I know I've been taking more than giving for the most part since on the
list...but someday all my trials and tribulations will provide help to
another...
