I had a similar experience yesterday. I removed the heater system from
my 68 GT. Just to replace the rubber rings which keep the inside-heater
at the right spot. Thought I could do this in one hour or so.

Be prepared!

You will have to remove the heater control cable as well. This is
allmost impossible.

Got it back in after 4 hours or so.
