Well... my B is not running at the moment, but that is the reason I've owned
and driven so many Volkswagens in the past (pre-1985). Even with the
injected water cooled ones, I could fix most any problem. Although, a lot
of those code readers merely create a connection between two terminals in a
diagnostic plug. I've troubleshot and repaired my '90 Mazda and my wife's
'89 Toyota quite successfully this way. A factory service manual is the way
to go too IMHO.
