Keith has a great idea with his junkyard clearinghouse website. Here in
Sacramento we have about 3 "U-Pull It" type junkyards. Once El Nino
backs off, I will start making trips to them regularly. I'll report
anything interesting.
Too bad this site didn't exist about 7 years ago - I went to one of the
junkyards and found a GT6 that was obviously someone's restoration
project gone bad. It had a newly painted (rebuilt?) engine bolted in
(but without most of the ancillaries). All the brakes and hubs were
brand new, it had new half shafts and U-joints, etc. I had no space for
the poor car, but wished that I could have rescued it for the parts.
Even though I'm an MG person, the sight of all those new parts
languishing in the rain made me sick!
