Hello again-- My thanks to the many who gave helpful answers to my question about getting main bearing caps off. I've tried jerry-rigging a home-made puller with limited success, and have decided to go out and buy a real one. Somehow I'd thought they were a lot more expensive and specialized. Always looking for an excuse to buy another tool, in spite of the ancient wisdom: "Never buy anything with a handle on it--it means work." Thanks again. John Vallely '59 mga |
