While underneath my 78B the other day, I noticed a new oil leak. There are
several slow seepers that I'll get to in due time, but this one is leaking
fast enough to require quick attention. After cleaning and observing for a
while, this one seems to be coming from the speedo pinion bushing on the
gearbox. I'm guessing that fixing this is as simple as draining the
gearbox, removing the pinion bushing and replacing the gasket.
Since there is a speedo pinion involved, I just want to verify that I'm not
opening a new can of worms by attacking it this way. Can anyone verify
that I'm on the right track or warn me of any pitfalls?
Thanks!
