Don't blame AOL, they actually filter out a lot of the junk mail. Once your
address gets out, and it will, it will pop up on those CD roms
the spammers use. I have a separate email address at work, that I have only
used for business purposes. I actually get more spam at work than I do at
home with AOL.
As far as newsgroups go, that's probably the spammer's favorite address
hunting ground! I personally feel that spam will eventually ruin the internet.
It burns me that these jerks can run their computers 24 hrs a day, sending
junk mail, and it doesn't even cost them anything to do so. I've noticed
lately
that I'm even getting spam re-runs. Just blowing off steam, sorry for low LBC.
