Thanks for the tip! I was trying to figure out a tool that would slip in =
underneath with a suitable upturned edge to pry/pull out the bottom edge =
of the ring. Since I'm going to the paint shop to ask about touch-up =
paint anyway, I'll look for this tool!

GO TO THE LOCAL PAINT STORE AND GET A PAINT OPENING KEY. YOU KNOW, THE =
TYPE
THAT HAS A LOOP ON ONE END AND A SMALL HOOK ON THE OTHER. INSERT THE =
HOOK
UNDER THE BOTTOM OF THE TRIM RING. PULL IT OFF USING THE RING AS A =
HANDLE.
