The PO of my car installed some C channel aluminum to raise the driver's
seat about an inch. (There were holes drilled on each side so the seats
could still use the original mounting screws.) Although it seemed to do
the trick for her, I removed it. I'm not tall either (5'6") but I felt
like I was going to whack my head of the roof frame everytime I hit a
bump. I replaced the webbing on the seat with a rubber diaphragm and
that seemed to bring me to a height that I was comfortable with. Once
your seats are redone, you might feel the same.
