I've never kept my Certificate of Ownership in the car.  If someone stole
the car, it would be that much easier for them to transfer it away from me
and that much harder for me to prove it was mine.

By the way, we still call them 'Pink Slips' here in California, even though
they haven't been pink in a while, so that's a term you might hear someone
use.
