I am not the "uncrowned king of the engine rebuilders".
But, being a man, I have an opinion on your engine storage dilemma ;).
Proper cam break-in is crucial and depends to a large degree on
sufficient lubrication during the break-in cycle.
If at all possible, either fully assemble the lubed engine during the
Holidays and start it up, OR don't install the lubed cam until you are
ready to break it in.
You sure don't want the cam lube to run off during storage.
