Rick,
You obviously don't have children. With Christmas coming, you should
know that the various colors of electrical tape are an ideal substitute
for ribbon on Christmas packages. The bright colors provide a festive
appearance while the 3M plastic and adhesive is an excellent deterrant
to mischevious kids who try to peek under the wrappers.
