Buying a good MG and not driving it for some years ....
A real sacrifice was made by my wife: we bought the B in spring a couple of
years ago when
we just got married. The first two summers she was pregnant, so I told her not
to drive the car for
safety considerations. She complained but got the point.
BTW I was very happy we bought the car together. I figured she'd never want to
get rid of it that
way, and I just keep the (low) bills for the running costs out of her sight so
she is never reminded.
And now for something different: mothers. A pensioned collegue of my father
bought a B, and
my mother, 60, told him 'Too bad you couldn't get one with chrome bumpers'.
Surprised, he
asked where she got that wisdom from, and she told him 'From my daughter-in-law
of course'.
I'm proud of those ladies...
