Its YOUR project so its up to you what "level" you go for - however - I
can tell you from experience that stopping short of "the full monty "
will undoubtedly lead to disappointment later- constant thoughts of "I
wish I'd. . . "
You say the engine is out - well its not a huge job to strip the whole
thing from there - leaving the body on
the rolling parts you can get everything else in a few boxes! - but thats
only if you go with a replacement 1800 engine, if you go to V8 then you
have to take off the front and rear ends to rebuild/replace them anyway

AFTER!

Talk to people in your local club, body shops and available services are
highly variable.
if you are going for a decent job include sandblasting/filling before the
paint - which should
be EVERY surface inside and out
off the cuff id say $3000 with you doing the disassembly/reassembly -
less than that if you live outside a metro area - but not much
oh - and forget Maaco....

Ive never been involved with a V8 conversion but im not sure if the TR8
engine/trans is suitable
the Rover/Buick block is the only one ive heard of being used
