Porting is enlarging the intake and/or the exhaust ports to flow better.
It is often used to match the port sizes on the heads and manifolds. I
have burnt quite a few Dremels up trying to port heads, I eventually hads
to get a heavyduty model. What I have now is a flex-shaft electric
die-grinder made by Foredom. I have tried to stop this thing, and it
will not stop. I can run this thing right into the head and it keeps
going. Try doing that with a dremel! I do it by myself, but I would not
recommend that anyone with a die-grinder try it. You can VERY EASILY
mess up a good set of heads. I probably blew through at least $1000 in
heads in mistakes.
