FWIW, when my '77 was operational, I had some former High School classmates
that
thought it would be fun to f**k with my car one night while I was home from
college.
Of course, I heard about this when I rolled into town, and defeated them by
prevention. First, I put everything of any value in the locked trunk. Second,
I
opened the glove box up to let it hang wide open. I removed my dizzy cap and
wires,
then the hood release knob. (It was broken anyway.) Oh yeah, before doing all
this,
I drove the car into my front yard and directed an outdoor floodlight onto the
car.
Let's just say that if they came by, they were blinded by a 300w industrial
spot.
Needless to say, they never bothered the car, but the light disturbed the
neighbors
so much, my Dad finally gave me a spot in the garage!
So, spend about $40 on a good spotlight if your car sits outside and beam
oodles of
light onto it. Of course, this only works as a deterrent at your residence,
you'd
need a really long extension cord for this method to work at your local mall...
