Rostyle wheel paint

I'm sure this has been covered before, so I apologize for rehashing any 
old news, but... I'm trying to paint my rostlye wheels for my 'B.  I 
bought some aluminun colored paint at the hardware store and it doesn't 
look too good on the wheels (I swear it looked like the right color on 
the paint can cap!).  I really don't want to pay $12 a can for Moss' 
wheel paint.  Has anyone found a good, reasonably priced alternative?
