Since when does "Consumer Reports" really mean anything. Lately, I've
heard about
their meaningless test practices based more on false knowledge than practice.

Example, I read a horrible review of mountain bikes in one of their magazines
a few months back. Anyone who rides mountain bikes knows they were wrong.
Also, their review of home audio speakers was quite lacking.
The problem is that Consumer Reports has tried to find the best product
through
objective testing. Mountain bikes and speakers are both subjective items and
can not be tested in a objective environment.

This said, I can't really give them much slack for their testing methods.
Not to say that they are definately wrong, but I do cast doubt on their
results.
On the other hand, if it weren't for Consumer Reports many would and
unfortunately
still believe Castrol Syntec does exactly what the ads show.
