So, the stock spring relieves around 75 or so? This leaves me with a
few possiblities.
A) My gauge is reading low, and the oil pressure is really fine.
B) Mechanic forgot to replace the spring from last time.
C) Something else is causing the oil pressure to not get above 55.
(wouldn't explain why the valve seems to be relieving at 55, though.)
All this still leaves me puzzled as to the cause of the second
bearing failure. I would think even 55 psi would be enough to
keep the engine happy at 4200 rpm.
