MG enthusiasts around the world,
Thanks to all who offered help with my distributer vacuum unit and gas tank
problems. Everything's working great now....except the headlights. I
was driving on the freeway with my headlights on when suddenly smoke
began to rise up from the steering column on the side of the headlight
switch. When I stopped the car I think a puff of smoke escaped the hood
just in front of me. The interior of my car had gotten wet a couple days
earlier, and it may have still been damp. Don't know if that had
anything to do with it. Anyway...the headlights, tail-lights and parking
lights now longer work. Reverse lights, turn signals, and brake lights
still work, but when I flip the headlight switch nothing happens. It
seems logical to me that the switch needs to be replaced, but I have very
little electrical expertise (plug it in and it should work). I
appreciate any hints, ideas, advice, etc.
Thanks
Jamey Harris
