Running the risk of getting flamed horribly, I have always felt that the
rotary engine is really superior to many piston engines in many ways. They
have a better weight to horsepower ratio than many standard piston engines,
and are really much more durable (eg: they will run up and above 300k miles
and still be able to redline!)
I guess I am also a little biased - I am an ex RX-7 owner.. ;)
