Scott,
My oil pressure sounds as lousy as yours did before my engine
rebuild, but the 45-50 didn't last an hour...more like the first
ten minutes.
My cam was also worn out on more than one lobe, but the bearings
were actually worn down all the way (according to the rebuilder).
That's what I've always thought to cause the low oil pressure.
