I believe it was invented in about 1930 in Poland/Hungary
by a Mr Anton Thera (?) was used for the sounds
on Forbidden Planet and I suppose it was the first non-polyphonic
synthesiser
His daughter/grand-daughter still gives lessons and instructions
exist for one
on the net!
It's the device responsible for all
