Ok here goes. 67 MGBGT, running along fine until the front generator
bearing fails. Drove for a few day w/o generator. Replace generator and
the light glows dimly at idle (never did before) goes out all the way at
rmp's but battery is dead and generator wont charge battery up on the
way to work (30 miles 60mph plus) I energized the field before hooking
up the wires. Was there not enough juice to energize the field properly?
Maybe the rebuild is not putting out enough amps? it does put out 14.5
volts when running but haven't checked amperage. Please help as this is
my only transportation, besides pushing the MG everywhere give MG's a
bad reputation.
