With only the four inch measurement, I managed to locate the holes in 
no time! Many thanks!
I did not have the side studs on my dash, so I have some further 
questions, if you would be so kind: 

What configuration are the side studs: two screws like the center 
stud, or one stud and nut like those on the rear deck?

To locate them, what is the distance from the back of the padded 
rail?
