Along these lines, I know of an enthusiast who built the ultimate MGB for
street racing. When the smog legal testing came to his area, he simply
switched the ID plates from his '72 racer and his early 60's parts car.
Voila - he had a street legal pre-smog car. He even switched the grilles to
give the car an outward impression of an early 'B. Not very legal, but...
