On my van (Club Wagon) jiggling the key didn't have any effect because
the problem was actually in the plastic switch mounted to the back of
the (dash mounted) lock. (Remember, an ignition _lock_, and an ignition
_switch_ are two entirely different components, (even if they are
attached to each other).
Mine was basicly the same problem as the one with the selonoid. The
culpret was the wire "tab" that went to the "on" wire. (The one that
supplies power to the coil.)
I guess what I'm saying is that the problem definitely (IMHO) sounds
like a intemitant "contact" problem.
Now that I'm thinking about, I remember when I pulled the harness
connector off the back of the switch (in pieces) it had VERY obvious
signs of being subjected to exrteme heat. Look for signs of a burnt
connection... somewhere.
