Sounds like the clutch disk has rusted to the flywheel. Sometimes you can free it by towing the car in gear or perhaps rolling the car in neutral and dumping it in gear (sounds abusive to me. If it's really bad, pull the engine & trans about 4 hours and free it in the usual way.
