If ever in doubt about how the primary (small) wires on your coil should be
attached, consider this: If the electrical system is negative ground, the
engine is grounded to the chassis, the distributor is grounded to the engine,
therefore the - side of the coil is attached to distributor and the + side to
the ignition switch. If the car is wired positive ground, the + side of the
coil is connected to the distributor. Easy and logical.
