The drive dog will only allow the dizzy to be mounted one way, due to the
offset.
If I recall correctly, the camshaft/dizzy drive gear has eight teeth (don't
have a loose one handy to count - someone please correct this if I'm wrong).
If it is removed during distributor removal - you could end up being off in
increments of 45 degrees, including 180.
