Yeah, cutting off the whole tunnel would be a problem, but as a bona fide
aerospace structural engineer that does this stuff every day to
helicopters, I can say that a four inch square hole in the bottom pan ain't
gonna do no harm.  You got to get under the car anyway to grease the rear
U-joint...it's a lot easier to do the front one at the same time with an
access hole.  Besides, the rubber plug is about one inch in diameter, and
the seat pan is in the way.  Hard to see the grease fitting, not to mention
getting the grease gun on it.  Different strokes for different MG folks....
