DO NOT attempt to downshift into first without coming to a complete stop.
 Some people say you can double clutch and "feel" it into first while
moving, but I've always been too scared to try it.  You don't really need
to have first "on the fly," anyway, since second is such a low gear. 
After coming to a stop, I always put it into second before going into
first, which seems to help things line up.
