  Go ahead and do it. You won't regret it.  
  I'm running 195/60X14 P600's on my 72 GT. As was said, anything less than
lethal won't break the little buggers loose. And given the GT's propensity
for a bit less understeer than the Tourer to start with (due to the greater
rearward weight distribution), the handling is super!

  Plus the fact they look great on the lower car. The wheel wells are full of
tire.
