If there is a trick, please go back in time and tell it to
me when I needed to know it.
I had to use a dremel tool to get mine out, basically destroying
one on purpose because I had a spare. It worked, but cost me
a junkyard trip.

What kind of wheels? Wires, Rostyles, ...?
I repainted my Rostyles with good results. I was informed that
the spray templates were useless, so I just taped them up by
hand and repainted. It took a very long time to do all the
masking, but it's not difficult. The results look fine.
