David, I'm like you, I too generally de-clutch before engaging O/D. I've just never felt the sudden engagement and consequent load on the drive train was all that good for any of the various and sundry pieces. Reminds me too much of "Speed-shifting". I especially de-clutch when disengaging the O/D. I'm probably out in left field, but I just feel that when I use the clutch, the shock load on the drive train from tranny back is reduced to a more tolerable level. Rick |
