Jay, yes coils can go south suddenly. Any open circuit in the coil will cause it to non-function. But Before you go and wholesale parts replacement, take a little time and replace one component at a time. Coil, points and condenser., rotor, etc. The reason for this is by simply replaceing all the components at one time, you may get the car going, but you'll never know exactly what caused it. Replacement in sequence will definitly be a learning experience. next time you'll know! Rick Morrison |
