to no more smog testing for my 65 B.
This morning I had my appointment at the CHP Inspection center.
The very nice officer helped type up a statement of facts that
will hopefully let DMV know my car is a 65, not a 66 as the
pink slip indicates.
As a point of interest, he used my BMIHT certificate (photocopy)
as a portion of his legal proof...although he did run the VIN
himself through a Police/FBI database, it too indicated the
car is a 65.
And on one ironic note, I had to drive the little gem to the
CHP in order for him to do the verification, but since I still
do not have a sticker (from the DMV)I wanted to get the car
back home, and off the road. So at lunch I ran home, parked
the B, and hopped in to my daily driver (BMW 325is) and jetted
back to the office. Stopped for a taco on the way back, when
I got back in the car, turned the key....DEAD...DEADER then DEAD.
No juice....dead battery.....sploded battery.....no more electrons.
How about that!? I really can't complain though...the battery
was almost 5 years old, and the car itself has over 140,000 miles
on it. New battery, no more problems.
Regards,
TJ
