Folks,

I have had some good dealings with three companies. I thought
I might share my experiences with you.

1. VB - Yes, the infamous Victoria British. If nothing else,
I can get "C" parts from them.
I got my first BGT as a learning experience. I didn't know
where to get it worked on, or where the clubs were, just
knew that I could get parts (we call that the gating
factor her at work). I noticed that the air flow from the
heater would not change when I turned the knob. The heater
duct was rusted. I got one from VB, and had it installed
by someone who specialised in British cars, not
necessarily Bs. He took more hours than he should have to
change it out, and it cost me a bundle. He also mentioned
that the air flow was better, but still didn't completely
shut of in the heater position.
Fast forward two years. I now know where the "B" experts
are, and am having some work done on the car. Jon is the
type of wrench who has to look at everything, and noticed
that the air flow was not right. He took a look and
discovered that The part that cost so much was defective.
  (&^)*_&^$&^#$&!!!
Just for the heck of it I called VB and explained the
situation. The person in charge of customer relations
asked how much labor was involved. I checked, and it was 2
1/2 hours. She went out into the warehouse and found there
was at least one other defective unit like mine. VB SENT
ME A NEW PART, AND A CHECK FOR THE LABOR! This was after
two years. Please note that I did not call and scream
about defective parts. I spoke calmly, asked if they could
   do anything, and they did.

2. MG Bits and Spares. Robin Weatherall mentioned Don several
weeks ago. He sells new and used parts. He will work with
you on a discount on new parts, and negotiate the price of
used ones. When I got the used parts, they were clean, and
had been lightly bead blasted. The electrical connections
were clean! Try him for new or used parts, you will like
   him.

3. Special Interest Parts. This is another small retail
outfit. Most companies don't acknowledge returned parts,
and I've had to call to get acknowledgment, and credit.
Special Interest sends a returned invoice immediately upon
   receiving the return.

I ordered a trunk kit for the "C". I had assumed that the
tire cover had enough play to fit 15" tires. It did not.
In talking to the sales rep I realized that the carpet
sets were made to order on premises.
Bottom line: They made me a 15" cover at no extra charge
when I offered to pay for shipping it, and the return
   shipping on the 14" cover.

WAY TO GO! Thanks to all three companies.

Jack
