for your consideration-and; *without any intention of flaming* but; in
the interests of historical accuracy, I disagree with your statement,
*the magazine is a direct decendent*
MG Enthusiast Vol 1, # 1 was sold for April/May 1983
In 1986 Abingdon Classics Vol 6, # 8, in the Editors Jottings inside the
front cover is a message from Martin Wise;
"Many of you may be aware that former editor/publisher George Butler's
business has taken him to foreign fields and we took it as a great
compliment when he approached us to see if we would like to continue
producing Abingdon Classics."
Martin quotes figures of 60,000 readers for MG Enthusiast and 10,000 for
Abingdon Classics,
In Abingdon Classics Vol 6, # 9, Editors Jottings, Martyn mentions a deluge
of response he received from the other side of the big pond, and wishes all
of you safe motoring in 1987. [this was the last copy of the separate
publication of Abingdon Classics, the next MG Enthusiast incorporated it and
later, with the 10th anniversary issue Vol 11, # 4, put the crossed flags
and MG logo on the MG Enthusiasts masthead]
So it can't be a decendent, it was nearly 4 years old at the time.

Scotty, and the list, I stand corrected.....I wasn't aware of this part of
the history.
My friend Scotty in Oz usually has the right information on all things MG!
Thanks for the up date Scotty. BTW I made reservations for the Nat Meet
yesterday. See you on the Gold Coast?
Cheers, Terry
