I had the same thing happen when when I painted the 190 SL long ago.  
Except the dog and cat came to see me.  What the heck, pets are like kids 
you can't kill 'em, can't live with 'em and can't live without 'em.  The 
dog has gone to the big bird hunting field, and the cat ran out of lives 
due to grief over the dog.  I still have the 190 SL and still have the 
hair imorints if you know where to look.  Wife still laughs at the 
thought of me spraying and cussing.
